EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is often used to help individuals who have experienced trauma/PTSD by helping process traumatic memories and reduce the symptoms of trauma. Trauma hijacks the mind, the self, and the present by keeping us frozen in the past. The good news is that we can heal our traumatized brains and nervous systems by working with them instead of against them. Trauma therapy differs from traditional talk therapy in that it employs evidence-based interventions that train our brains in our bodies to recognize that the danger is past and how to release and reset ourselves so we can live more fully and calmly in the present moment. The best part is, you don’t have to do it alone. We will walk alongside you as you bravely reclaim your voice and your story. We are firm believers that when we are real, we can heal. We speak the unspeakable so we can move the unmovable and do it with authenticity, transparency, and maybe  even healthy dose of humor.
